Revised PC-1 Prepared Under Dynamic Leadership
The technical team of the Karachi Mobility Project (KMP), under the dynamic guidance and supervision of the Project Director KMP, has made dedicated and tireless efforts to prepare the Revised PC-1 for the project. This updated version builds upon the original PC-1, which was approved in 2019, incorporating necessary changes to align with evolving project requirements and development goals.
Pre-PDWP Meeting and Interdepartmental Coordination
As part of the revision process, a Pre-Provincial Development Working Party (Pre-PDWP) meeting was held on 31st January 2025. This was followed by a series of high-level coordination meetings at the Planning & Development Department, ensuring that all stakeholders were aligned on the revised framework. These sessions witnessed active collaboration between the KMP technical team, the Transport & Mass Transit Department, Financial advisor and senior officials from P&D, showcasing a unified approach to urban mobility planning.
Approval by the Honourable Chief Minister
The persistent efforts and seamless coordination among departments led to a significant milestone—the approval of the Revised PC-1 Summary by the Honourable Chief Minister on 3rd April 2025. This endorsement marks a crucial step forward for the project and reaffirms the government’s commitment to advancing sustainable urban transport infrastructure.
Next Steps: Upcoming PDWP Meeting
With the summary now approved, the Revised PC-1 is set to be presented at the upcoming PDWP meeting scheduled for next week. This presentation is expected to pave the way for subsequent implementation phases, propelling the Karachi Mobility Project closer to its vision of a modern, efficient, and inclusive transport system.
