World Bank Vice President Reviews Progress on Karachi Mobility Project – Yellow Line BRT
On July 25, 2025, Mr. Ousmane Dione, World Bank Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa, Afghanistan, and Pakistan (MENAAP), visited the Jam Sadiq Bridge and key sites of the Karachi Mobility Project – Yellow Line BRT.
He was received by Sindh Minister for Transport & Mass Transit, Mr. Sharjeel Inam Memon, and Secretary Transport, Mr. Assad Zamin, who briefed him on the strategic progress and urban impact of the BRT corridor. The discussions highlighted the project’s vital role in improving connectivity, easing congestion, and supporting sustainable urban development in Karachi.
To commemorate the visit, Mr. Dione was presented with traditional Sindhi souvenirs — a gesture reflecting the strong partnership between the Government of Sindh and the World Bank in delivering transformative infrastructure for Pakistan’s largest city.
